Woodland Park PD dispatch has moved to Colo Spgs/El Paso DTRS as TG 33136. VHF system still exists but is unused. Has been submitted to DB.

How sure are we of this TG? Win96 says its an invalid TG, but not sure why that is. I'll try programming it anyway....

Have you heard if any of the Teller County FD's are going to the EPSO system?

For what its worth, I've been driving around for a few days now with the WPPD TG in my scanner and haven't heard a thing here in Colorado Springs. I do know that its working up there, but my guess is that unless a user is down here and lighting up that TG on a tower in the Springs, we won't be able to hear much. A good excuse to drive up the pass, though.

Yes, you're correct Bob... They're primarily associated to the Woodland Park site, unless they come into the Springs.

Their primary talkgroup is "WPPD 1" : 33136.

"WPPD 2" is 33168, but they're not using it yet.

They still have their VHF mobiles in their cars, but use their EF Johnson heldhelds for most communicaiton on the trunking system.

Teller has no plans to come on to the State or El Paso County/City of C/S PSS. They recently put in a three-repeater, VHF system to cover their terrain.

Also Bob (and other posters), if you don't already have one, get a APCO P25 handheld (one that will follow the 9600 baud digital control channels) as the El Paso/City of C/S system will be integrated into the state system in summer of next year.

I've been issued an HT by the EPSO, so eventually it'll get upgraded. Its still going to be late next year before the entire system goes to 9600 baud.
And...the El Paso County/Colorado Springs system will NOT be integrated into the DTRS. It will be brought up to 9600 baud so that users can utilize DTRS TG's but there will NOT be any integration.

It will be an integration... It will be zone 4. I'm already mapping over the new talkgroups for the database in the zc.

Will Zone 4 be limited to current El Paso County/CSprings users or will the system be taken over by other DTRS users? It's already been overwhelmed with just local traffic, so sharing it with every other Tom, Dick and Harry on DTRS will only make for problems.

That continues to be analyzed. Probably not be a big impact on the current system although some Quantars will be moved around to support users in different areas. The biggest user in the area on the state system, by no surprise is CSP. There is talk of limiting users and creating "preferences" for zones so that zone sites are not taking user associations that shouldn't be there.

It is more likely that current users in the El Paso area will busy-out other zones rather than the other way around.

Bob, make sure that you are in contact with Jay or Bob at the SO to help them with their radio inventory. Some radios are inevitably going to be missed until the users get a "out-of-range" message. The first re-programming and flashing will probably occur in the winter after the first list is compiled.

Are you a system user or media? Send me a PM.

We should be good. They just asked for an inventory from us a few months ago, and my HT just spent two weeks in the shop getting fixed...wouldn't always receive TG's. I'd hear traffic on my scanner and not on my HT. Pretty strange.

Thanks!
