Recently, K2RHI, who controls the 146.94 (Bald Mountain) and 147.33 (Grafton) repeaters, put up a Comet GP-1 antenna for running the Commuter Assistance Network.
Sitting there this morning, minding my own business, when EchoLink activates on 33. Brit voice drops a call: GB2022ER -- that's not a typo -- special events station for the Queen's 70th anniversary of taking the throne.
Operator's regular call: G3ZRR.
We chat. My first EchoLink contact (been a ham for over 3 decades)
I send an email to K2RHI: Boy, that new antenna REALLY WORKS . . . England!
