Here is a letter to the FCC, from the city of Worthington, Ohio describing their future radio system plans. This makes for some very interesting reading, especially when you read their application.

Not future plans anymore; the system goes live in about 10 days.

Interesting complication having to submit an STA request tied in with the rebanding project, though. Of Dublin's four frequencies, only one 806 band frequency is moving due to rebanding, but the other three will not change; Worthington, OTOH, is replacing all three of their 821 band frequencies during rebanding.

I've already heard grumbling about setting up the 821 frequencies on the new system only to have to retune the repeaters and combiners in a couple of months. Fortunately, Dublin's existing 810 band frequencies will be used as control channels so they won't need to be changed.

Personally, I plan to order a few "REBANDING SUCKS" t-shirts; it's the bane of my existence right now...

I'm a bit confused after reading that. I thought Worthington and Dublin were simply joining the Delaware County system and getting their own TGs on that system. From reading that it sounds like they are starting a separate system using the old analog Worthington freqs and the Dublin freqs. Can anyone clarify?

It looks like it might be a second site on the Delaware system:

This simulcast system will be linked with the Delaware County 800MHz P25 standards based system through the use of a common trunking controller

The Dublin and Worthington frequencies are being combined into a three-site P25 simulcast which will be connected to the DelCo system as a second zone.

Do you have a good guess as to the switchover day? I'd like to have my feed ready for the change before I leave town.

Looks like it won't be active until they cut over since they are using frequencies that are being used on their current system. I just thought maybe someone got a preview of the TGs.

Hello folks! I am new to the Radio Reference forum and am hoping this is the correct thread to ask the following question. Having listened to the scanner in Dublin, OH for the past two years, we were caught a bit off guard with the transition the other day and, as a result, no longer receive any transmissions. My wife and I are surely not radio experts and had originally had the scanner (Radio Shack Pro-528) set on TRUNK mode with the following frequencies : 852.0125, 855.4875, 855.7125, and 855.9625. Could anyone please advise of the new frequencies which I would need to enter in order to receive transmissions and subsequent talk groups over the newly upgraded system? Sorry for any ignorance here. Knowing you folks are the more die hard radio users, thought there might be some answers here. Thanks in advance for any replies to this post! Much appreciated.

If the Agency you have been listening to went Marcs Digital You'll need a new Digital Scanner Look here it appears that Dublin is` still analog Dublin Trunking System, Dublin, Ohio - Scanner Frequencies

Dublin isn't on MARCS, but it is on a P25 system. The Dublin Trunking System is now defunct. All traffic is now on this system. That will mean a digital scanner is necessary for anyone who wants to continue to listen to Dublin PD and Washington Township fire.
