Just curious here...
I've been thinking about setting up a second feed for amateur radio / weather spotting activity. But most of the time there simply isn't much if any activity for either of those, only when things get "interesting". It'd be a rather dull feed most of the time!
I am working out the kinks to feeding ID tags with my stream, and wondered if having a "general scanning" feed where I could just set whatever was of interest to me at the time would be okay since with the ID tags at least listeners could see just what they were listening to at the time. I could also update the status line on the feed so people seeing it in the listing would know what's on.
It wouldn't necessarily be something that changes all the time, primarily switching when something happens to cause another group of frequencies to be more interesting.
In the end, I have to run an icecast server at home to get the tags in the stream (convoluted process, I discuss it in another thread) so *I* don't need the feed here (can ssh in and listen direct) but this would be the scanner I set to "weather spotters" when the storms roll in, and perhaps others may find it interesting...?
