To those of you who have tried the upgrade to V3 on the 996t, how is it working with the Morris Digital network? I am still on V1 and not sure if I should make the change right now.

I upgraded my 996 to V3 then went in the hidden menu and set it to 3 instead of 1. THen in each site for Morris I set decoding to auto. No issues.

Can't speak about Morris system, but Montclair system was motorboating and very poor audio with the V3 firmware. I went back to V2.

Yes. i also tried the manual adjustments. But i found the version 2 firmware is almost flawless. I routinely listen to Montclair,Parsippany,Lincoln Park, and Montville. They are all P25, and with the version 2 firmware are a pleasure to listen to. Maybe when the next firmware fix is issued this problem will be fixed. Its kind of dissapointing to have to perform so many "tweaks" on a $500 radio just to get good performance.

Stay with V2

I also upgraded.
"Auto" feature cannot produce as low an error rate as using manual mode.
Rather than going back to V2 I simply went back to "Manual" mode and adjusted for lowest error rate.
Honestly, I see no real advantage to V3 - if your radio isn't broken, don't try to fix it!

I upgraded to 3.00.0 and, although I don't listen to a lot of digital stuff, the occasional NJSP stuff that is transmitted in digital comes through OK.

edit: also, I haven't really needed to make any adjustments (auto mode).
