And the rules for the band, when the FCC gets around to writing them up, will probably severely limit your antenna size and power output.

The FCC won't have to limit antenna size unless you own a LOT of real estate. A dipole would stretch the length of three football fields plus 92 feet. Well, you can get away with a 300' base loaded tower so maybe W2WSC should rethink what they did to the one on the property when the club bought RCA's old WSC coastal marine station.

I believe the WRC is proposing 5 watts ERP. 600 meters has served the maritime service well for quite a while. This should be a fun band to experiment with.
