Cannot read from or write to Uniden HP-1. Using Sentinel version 1.07 Rev 5 just updated last night. Updated the latest database last night. Micro sd card seems to be ok as older database can be monitored.
Any ideas ?

Sounds like you have the wrong Sentinel - that one sounds like the x36 version.

I believe the latest for Home Patrol is 2.03 (rev 02)

OK, I down-loaded the HP Sentinel version and built my Fav List. Tried to write to the scanner and could not. When the dialogue box opened, the OK button was dimmed out and nothing would happen. Thought that perhaps the microSD card was defective (although the old database is there and will load the scanner). Bought a new microSD card today and tried to write to it, but got same results. Perhaps I need to format the card! Could find nothing in Sentinel to accomplish that. By the way, tried another USB cable that I have used successfully programming other Uniden scanners. Also tried the "clear user data" function with the same results ( OK button in dialogue box dimmed) and nothing happening. Only thing I can figure is that I need to format the new card ! Any ideas ?

New cards usually come already formatted. There is no format function in Sentinel.

You will need to use the "clear user data" function in Sentinel before you can use a new card. Be sure to check the "display all drives" box in the clear user data wndow to choose your SD card.

You do have the HP1 displaying "USB mass storage" ?
And the PC is showing the HP1 as a USB drive?

HP1 is showing mass storage, but computer doesn't appear to recognize the sd card as a drive. brought home a card reader from work and wrote the new database on the card from there. Working fine. No idea why cannot program thru the usb to scanner cable
