Anyone else feel that, over time, if you keep writing to your scanner and erasing the memory in the process you are damaging the memory part of the radio? Anytime I need to make a change to a system I already have programmed I am supposed to erase that system or it will write a new system along side the old system? Since erasing effects the whole database I'm affraid over time this will damage the radio. Anyone else have this feeling?

One more time, Anyone?
Probably the only one that could give you a definitive answer would be UPMan.

If I recall, someone asked a similar question concerning the 396. I believe the answer was that the memory had a mtbf rating well over 100k write/rewrite cycles. In any event, it's not a figure I'd be losing any sleep over.
