I'm to program a new member's scanner on the Pal800 system in a couple of hours and decided to bone up a little by checking the database and Arc300 program.

However, when I accessed the database for the site that he would be using the frequencies are in LCN format instead of Control and Alternate format.

Checking all the other sites I get the same thing. At this point I'm going to have to pick an LCN and download the needed tg's and then change the frequency to the control channel.

I checked t make sure that I selected all the correct parameters for Pal800. It's only been a month or so since the last time I accessed the data base so I can't determine why I get the LCN's now. Time is short and trying a search other than a quick look here is going to be hard.

Thanks,
Ron

Hey Ron,
I don't know where you are getting the LCN info from.
Both the Legacy Pal800 and the newer P25 Pal800
show up correctly in all of the software that I have.
Granted I don't have the ARC300 so I can't comment on
that software directly but all of the other software I have
imports both systems correctly as Motorola.

I tried it while programming the new scanner and just now from home...NOPE. Everything shows up as an LCN frequency.
I'm using Arc300 Ver1.22, Build 3, Full Version in case anyone else has an idea.

Thanks for looking Marshall, I had the trial versions of the other programs but they have long since expired and I can't verify if it's my software. Since it works on yours I'd guess it's on my end somewhere. I'll reach out on the Software Forum here to see if there's something that I missed.

Ron,
I believe I have found where the confusion lies.
I downloaded and installed the trial version of Win300.
When you do a RR.com online import you should see this screen:

You are probably confused with the "LCN: x" in the left hand side.
Disregard that LCN.
After you do the import click on the bank you imported the Pal800 into and click on the system name:
NNCdX.jpg

As long as the "BANK TYPE" is set to Motorola you are good.
Also click on the "Frequencies" icon in the bank:

As long as the "MODE" box is set to "MOT" you are good there as well.
My guess is Gommert at Butel left the "LCN" tag in as a placeholder for when EDACS/LTR systems are selected.
As long as the above is set as shown above you should be good to go.
Happy Monitoring!

Marshall,
I appreciate all the work you've done on this but when I programmed my scanner several months ago this is not the way it worked. I was able to select the Pal800 Moto system site that I wanted and then select only the control and alternate frequencies for that site. Also, the Normal box was checked. What I see now is completely different.

I posted this here because I wanted to know if there was a problem with the database. RR has been flakey again for the last several days, like having to refresh to get out of a reloading loop while opening a thread.

Thanks,
Ron
