WS 1080 display icons

On my WS1080, what does a blinking S (white with black background) in the position where you would see the T for trunking mean? This not the black S at the beginning of the top display line for squelch open. I notice this when I am in a dead zone for a particular scan list (Spotsylvania, VA). The user manual does not show a display icon that is a white S on a black background.
