WS1040 charger options for in the car usb to 9v & cig adapter solution?

Any members have a solution to providing DC 9v power to a Pro-106 / WS1040 that works correctly?
Looking at USB DC 9V solutions but there is a lot and not sure any success or a cigarette adapter solution the better route?

I built my own with a 12v to 9v transformer and a 4.75x1.7 barrel connector. I wired my 12v side in to existing radio wiring but you could just a cigarette lighter plug on it if that suits your needs better.
