WS1040 Nothing Enabled!

I know this is the most talked about thing out here but I can not for the life of me resolve the issue. I am using PSREdit and a WS1040 . I choose to Import items that I have selected, I have tried both conventional and Trunked and always assign to Scan List 1 But every time I get the message" Nothing Enabled!" The 1 is flashing/pulsing when I scan so I think that means the scan list is enabled but I get that message. I have never worked with a scanner in my life, I am tying to set this up for my dauther's fince, it was hi X-Mas gift. Please help if you would ?
