Hey Whistler Users!

Looking to purchase a new Whistler 1040 or 1080....any suggestions?

I don't need Phase II or TDMA. Just P25 Phase I used here and no plans to change in the near future. 1040 is over $130 bucks cheaper.

Thanks in advance.

then if there is no plans for listening to DMR, Phase II, or NXDN ( with the TRX series) then the 1040/1065 will work for you. :)

WS1040 will work just fine for you. WS1065 if you want just a base scanner.

The WS1040 is very nice, but P25 decode typically sounds better on the WS1080 and newer. That having been said, using a PRO-106 (almost the same as the WS1040) for 5 years before upgrading to a PRO-668, I have no complaints with regards to what you want out of a scanner.
