WS1040 PC Control

Can the Whistler WS1040 be controlled (I don't mean programmed)with a PC using Win500 or other software in the same way the Uniden 396 with FreeScan??

That's win500 control settings.
I'm able to control it without needing to touch the scanner. The only option that doesn't work, is to make the light stay on full time, so I do that on the scanner itself.

If you are using a wildcard on a P25 trunked site can you lock out specific talkgroups without locking out the entire site like is possible in the Uniden 560??

My 560XLT, 40 years ago, never did trunking. How is that possible?

It is possible when you typo the number 396 into 560.

I know on scanner you use the F1 key to lock out unwanted tg using wildcard setting. I use it on 2 counties bordering us that are P25 systems.
