I just programmed my ws1040 using my PC all went well with the exception that on some trunked frequencies the reception is very distorted basically not audible. The party dispatching the call is very distorted the unit in service that is responding is fine. I am in Mahoning county, any ideas???🤔🤔🤔

What system are you trying to monitor?

If its the Austintown/Boardman System there are agencies that encrypt all or part of their radio traffic.

It would sound similar to what you described.

Yes this is system I am monitoring, I thought what you have mentioned is probably the case, any way around it? Thank you for your reply!

Unfortunately no.There's nothing that will legally enable you to monitor encrypted radio traffic.
Sadly, encryption is becoming more and more prevalent and may kill our hobby in the not too distant future.
