WS1098 EZ Scan Software

The software is not Whistler, it dates clear back to the GRE 800. It was written by Don Starr, the same author of Win 500, and Starrsoft.

In the interest of accuracy, Don Starr DID NOT write the software for the GRE 800 - just the firmware.

I am sorry but you are not making any sense. Are you talking about Talkgroups Importing; Talkgroup ID's Displayed in Software or on Radio; ScanLists?

Secondly, Whistler is not telling what you can or cannot program. The software offers several options when you import Systems and Talkgroups from the Radio Reference Database. YOU select what you want, where you want them to appear (i.e. ScanLists). You can also modify each Talkgroup in EZScan before downloading to your radio.

If you restate specifically what your issue is I/we can help you program your radio as YOU want it.

As has been mentioned in other threads, Whistler has a policy of not releasing their programming protocols for third party development (sadly that include Don and anyone else who wants to try their hand).

Let me repeat. THE ONLY SOFTWARE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR WHISTLER 1098 IS EZSCAN (and Don Starr did not write EZScan and no one else can legally write software for the 1098). Ezscan works fine and there are no issues with it programming your radio. Can you post a picture of what you are struggling with?
