Ws1098 vs trx2

Ubbe, yes, I am programmed for single site on all my systems. And I love the TRX suite showing off RSSI value as well as the CC, helped me perfectly place my antenna.

There is a thread in the Uniden section with a Google Docs hosted by Upman where people are rating their scanners on a scale of 1-10 on LSM systems. It's an SDS100 thread, but plenty of TRX and WS data points. The WS series have higher rated performance than the TRX...that did not surprise me.

Currently looking at getting a WS1098, and wanted to see your views on it after owning it for a while.
I do not know anything about front end probs people are talking about, but I keep reading how bad the trx-2 is.
So any new input on your choice?
Was gonna consider a 996 but like everyone says the 1098 is easier to program.

I bought a Whistler 1098 back in December and have been very happy with it.

I dont know WTH happened, but the 1098 is now almost 600.00 and its more expensive than the TRX-2.
Now I guess I will wait till Whistler comes out with the new radio.
Was gonna get a 1098 due to all the positive reviews here.
