Out of curiosity, Does anyone happen to know if the Simplex channels for the new DOT system are Talkgroup simplex channels, or are they actual frequencies?

Lookin for the simplex channels for DOT SW Region.

Let us know which one is in use down there. I've heard 1/2 being used in the King County area. Very random traffic so be patient.

They still use the 800 analog as well for whatever reason. I would guess some of the older vehicles may not have the Phase 2 radios as yet.

Hey I don't know how much this will help but I figured I'd chime in, the crew I'm on and as far as I can tell most of the crews in SWR Vancouver area tend to use Simplex 3 for vehicle to vehicle talking. I am on this thread because I myself am trying to figure out and learn more about our radio system and mainly looking for our state-wide TMC / dispatch frequencies. Again don't know if this will help but I know fairly recently that we changed over to the P25 Phase 2 system for our non-simplex channels, in almost every state rig we've got Harris Tait TM9400 mobile radios as well as many handhelds of the same brand. I however am trying to figure out if we operate on VHF, UHF, or 700/800 Mhz for our non-simplex channels. Anyways, hope this kinda helps

Here's what I have found in SWR, haven't scanned for 700 P25 yet, need to add them in.

852.125 156.7
853.1 156.7
851.05 156.7 maybe?
It seems like certain areas, or certain crews have a particular simplex they tend to use. I have heard crews on the trunked system say Woodland area uses a particular simplex.

In contrast the ODOT trunked system users seems to make use of talkgroups rather than simplex at least in the Portland metro area for their jobsite and "other" communications. They do have a 10 channel TDMA simulcast system in Portland that gives them alot of resources.

Hey Hunter.

I have all the TalkGroups for the new digital system, At least for SW, SW dispatch does Clark Kelso Lewis county, I think you may be aware of that. I hear you guys traffic daily, except not much on Sundays unless someone needs to be called out for a priority response.

SW Radio Dispatch depending on what tower you’re closest to Clark simulcast/Davis Pk/Rainier Oregon, Dispatch is on Talkgroup 60004

This system communicates across both vhf/uhf. Mainly because it uses less frequencies and better superior coverage. Which I find from my house I have been getting many different Talkgroups from different areas way far away.

Not sure where you got the Clark Simulcast thing? There is a site in downtown Vancouver and one on Prune Hill, but they are both individual sites with their own site numbers and frequency sets.

Also WSDOT is 700 Mhz with a little 800 Mhz in the Puget Sound region, in addition to the 800 simplex channels. I've heard that they were turning in all their old VHF frequencies that used to crosspatch over to WSP.

Because WSDOT also runs off of the simulcast tower in Clark County.
