I have WSJT-X running on my IC-7100 through a Rigblaster Advantage sound card using VOX. I would like to have the software read and display the frequency of my IC-7100 using CI-V. The software has drop down menus for various radios, but not the IC-7100. I suspect the format for the IC-7000 is similar (correct me if I am wrong), but I still must change the address to 88H for them to communicate. I don't see how to do that in the software.

All help greatly apprediated.

On my IC-706 I use an older version of Ham Radio Deluxe to pass the frequency/mode to my digital programs via the CI-V port. Does the Rigblaster have a CI-V cable on it?

Actually no. All the connections are via USB cables. USB1 (which is COM6 on my computer) carries the CI-V information from the IC-7100 to the computer as TTL level bytes. I don't believe my Rigblaster is in that loop.

I think my only problem is setting the correct address in the WSJT-X software, but I don't see any way to do this. They have built in links via a drop-down menu for most rigs (including yours) but not the newer IC-7100.

Tnx for the thoughts.

I don't see the 7100 supported in the version I just downloaded.(1.3) so that could be a part of the problem.

Hit F2 for configuration. to find what you need.

I have been through that. But I tried something different today with some success. I installed a free version of Ham Radio Deluxe that came with my Rigblaster Advantage. It being a 2012 copyright did not have the IC-7100, so again I tried using the IC-7000. HRD does give me the option of chaning the CI-V address, which I did, And now that works. HRD is talking to my IC-7100 just fine. And I made no cable changes to get it there.

My long term goal is to work my IC-7100 which is in the basement from my easy chair upstairs in the living room via my intranet. I have the Icom software to do that, and now I have hope I can configure things properly. I have lots of learning to do before that, but at least I am on a roll.

Might I suggest you try Brandons RemoteHams.com - Home

You can download his client and server, and run your radio from anywhere with internet. You can even keep it private so no one else can use it. You can run voice, CW, and digital (with a little work)

And you get the bonus of having access to remotes around the globe.

I did download the software and set up for logging in. Problem is I cannot log in until I click on the email they supposed to send. I have not received any, so I am stuck. I sent myself an email at the arrl.net site I submitted, and that was forwarded properly to my majore email address. But nothing from RemoteHams.

I just got around it. I found a page in my history that lets me change an email address. When I did that, it gave me the email to enter the system.

I do have a problem with the client, though (which connects properly to various rigs). For family peace I want to monitor using my headphones. But with this program the audio continues to play through the speakers despite the headphones being plugged in. Windows control panel recognizes the headphones and lists them as defaulot when plugged in. Yet the audio still continues to play through the computer speakers. I don't have this problem with other programs. Apparently this software sends its audio to a different port presumably bypassing Windows.

In the upper left corner you'll see two drop downs (Black arrows) One says SPKR one says MIC. This will change your output, and input to the client.

Thanks for all your help, Gene. On mine the two options are SPKR and Microphone. Both gave output through the speaker. However, when I went into Options, I had two choices under SPKR. One changed the output to the headphones. So now I am golden.

Again thank you.

One more hiccup. No problem using the client on this computer, but on the older Dell with 1.66 processor running XP it will not let me install Net Framework 4. Without that I am dead in the water if I want to run my IC-7100 in the basement from this computer upstairs.
