ELECTRONICS
TECHNICIAN
The West Virginia State Police are accepting applications to fill a full-time Electronic Technician position at Troop 2 Headquarters in Charles Town. General duties include: Using personal computers to diagnose and program various types of radio equipment; Installing and maintaining various radio equipment in vehicles and buildings, emergency vehicle warning equipment, in-car video systems, building paging systems, computer network cabling, power generators and associated wiring; Climbing radio towers and other elevated structures at varying heights; Lift and carry heavy radio and test equipment; Travel required.
Experience: Minimum of one year full time or equivalent part-time paid employment in electronics repair; Successful completion of an approved vocational school program in electronics repair of at least 1080 clock hrs. or an Associate Degree in Electronics or Electronics Engineering Technology from an accredited college;
Special requirements: Valid driver's license; general FCC radio license preferred; Successful candidate must have a favorable background investigation.
Salary: Pay grade 10: 19,392-35,892 per year plus benefits including health and life insurance, retirement, vacation.
