WW II Handley Page Halifax whip antenna question

I am looking for information on the special duty HP Halifax avionics setup and the associated antenna array.

I am particularly interested in the role of an odd whip antenna installed just below the navigator's stand, which can be seen on the images from the links below.

Did it serve a VHF AM COM radio, which replaced the obsolete TR9F high frequency COM radio?

The purpose of the rest of antennas visible on these images is generally clear: the Rebecca Tx and Rx antennas; RAF blind approach "towel rail" antenna, tube for releasing the LF/MF wire antenna while airborne, and the HF wire antenna stretched from the DF loop teardrop cover. The whip however is still a mystery.

Based on what I know from aircraft of that era, it would be part of the direction finding array. This video from Veritasium has an amazing technical description on how they navigated by RDF back in that era and what antennas/technolgies were used.


I might be wrong, but it lines up with what he talks about in the video above.
