I have a pro106 Digital Police Scanner I programed it my self for what I wanted to hear. The problem I am having
is when I program the Same in the WX program. When I program it for what I want & activate the STAND BY for the WX it activates, BUT, when I push scan to activate it to scan & then go back to WX to see if standby is still activated it is Deactivated when I go back in to the WX, why is this? Thanks for the time, jbxfire of Leavenworth,
Ks

It's an "either-or" situation. You either have it on WX Standby (probably not worth it) or you have it scanning frequencies you want. The Pro-106 is a great scanner with many features, but having weather radio in the background is not one of them.

The alternative to Standby is WX Priority which will interrupt your scanning every few seconds to check the weather frequency before going back, but it is a very poor way of trying to get weather alerts. If you really must follow WX, then a dedicated weather radio would be best.

for got to ask this question the last time. On my pro106 police scanner when I turn on or off my scanner by the off/on knob why do I have static coming from my speaker? It's only when I use the on/off knob,& the faster I turn the knob back & forth it subsides a little till the next time I turn it on/off. Any answer to this? Thanks for the time, jbxfire

Sounds like it could be a dirty rotary switch and/or potentiometer. When you rotate it you "clean" the mating surfaces of the contacts, and when it sits idle the contacts get dirty again. Was this used in a dusty or damp environment?

I was told that LC CO FIRE & EMS has switched to digital broadcasting. But i still receive them on analog.I tried to switch them to digital using their same frequency # but no luck. Have they indeed switched? If so what is their new frequency & ID # ? Thanks for the time , jbxfire

KSICS , posted that Leavenworth County Sheriff , Fire and EMS are on this P25 system. But I still get them
on analog system. Have they indeed moved to the P25 system, if so what's their new frequency & ID #?

Your answer to my question for dirty contacts worked, twisting the knob back & forth rapidly does help till the next time. Thanks for the info. jbxfire

Volume control cleaner

There is a cleaner you can buy for dirty contacts and volume controls. You may have to open the radio to get at the trouble spot. It will help lengthen the life of the control as opposed to just rotating the control back and forth.
