A few services I listen to will say something that sounds like an X before saying the dispatcher #, then their own ID

i.e x039, 033
dispatcher: go ahead, 033?

anyone else hear this before or why they do it?

Could be the callsign of the dispatch for a given police service. I know Owen Sound uses their callsign when calling officers...probably do the same for Saugeen Shores as well.
