• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello! Recently acquired HARRIS XG-100H. I'm trying to program it. When you try to record the settings in the radio, the Action failed window appears. Please tell me what the problem may be.

Hi
Ok have you ever done any programming using a harris radio ? One thing you need to do is name your programming and save it to your computer. Then try to program it to your radio and see what happens. make sure you will NOT AFFILIATE to a system you are trying to program the radio and is it conventional programming only or trunked? There are so many things that need to be done the right way. For NAS there are 3 boxes that you need to check and or uncheck so you do not get on the system as it could be a matter of life and or death to a person if your radio is interfering in anyway. Do you research and take the time to learn and ask questions . If its a trunked system did you set up the astro band plan aka IDEN?

There is no such thing as a 100H, there's the 100P and the 100M, I'm assuming you have a 100P since you are using unity product management.
The OP said NOTHING about NAS so idk where the hell you people are getting trunking from.
As for the OPs issue, it could be numerous things but since the radio is showing up in UPM, I would go ahead and give the 100P the old three finger salute factory reset (PTT, Two front menu buttons on power up). See if that resolves it, if it doesn't, then it could be a bad UDC connector, programming cable or needs FW.

Ya gotta love the RR Police Department, wonder why people ASSume someone is doing something they have given no indication they actually are doing.

Harry, a little more info would help, are you trying to read the radio or program it? Not sure what "record" means. So, Have you successfully READ the radio, and modified the MP and are trying to write back? Or did you make a MP from scratch and are trying to blow it into the radio?

Have you read from the radio? Or did you create it from scratch? How are you trying to program, thru a wired programming cable or bluetooth?

Hello! I have not previously done Harriis programming, I have programmed Motorola XTS Xtl. I use RPM R14C05. I used a USB cord for programming. I created a PRS file in the program, after which I tried to program it by pressing the programmed button, but the action failed message is displayed. What could be the problem? Tell me how to read information from the radio?

Harry

Have you Tried. To. READ. The Radio. READ the radio first, this way you will know you can communicate.

And where did you get the USB cable, is it a genuine Harris cable? It's likely you created an invalid MP, that is why it fails.

I am not asking about a cable test, Mission Plan, or any thing but: HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO READ THE RADIO.

Hello! The cause of the malfunction has been established - a poor connection of the radio to the programming cable connector. Thanks for the help.
