• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hello all again. I'm wondering if I did this right.... So I got a cable to load in my VAs loaded in. But now I get Zone announce, Zone announce, then Channel every time. So example I'll use my FRS zone, I would enter the FRS Zone, so it would go "FRS....FRS... CHANNEL 1" if I move channels to say Ch 3"FRS...FRS... Channel 3" Should It be announcing the zone name twice?

Here's a manual addendum on the use of voice files that may help.

Is your configuration compliant with the parameters specified by Harris?

AUDIO FILES Voice Annunciation supports both pre-recorded (provided with RPM/RPM2) and user-recorded messages. These files must meet the following specifications: • .ilbc 16 bit, 8 KHz sample rate or .wav 16 bit • 8 KHz sample rate format NOTE RPM/RPM2 automatically converts .wav files to .ilbc files. This process is invisible to the user. • Contains no more than three (3) seconds of audio.

Yes, they are, as Moto uses the same wav parameters but up to 2 seconds, I was able to previously use those successfully, but when I added some additional that's when suddenly ALL voice announcements stopped working even the old ones which i have in the past confirmed worked and were already in the unit

VA is buggy, as with many other things, on the XG-100P.

No need to re-boot the radio. Just re-select your VA configuration file for your mission plan in RPM, under VA Configuration, then save the mission plan and reprogram the radio with the mission plan.

I did that like 3 times. VA was silent. But it seems like every time I add or remove 1 file it goes haywire and all of them just go NOPE

Did you load the Audio Config File into RPM, under the Voice Annunciation Configuration dropdown, and select every voice file and then save the file and click Done?

Did you save the mission plan after clicking done and then close the mission plan, then open it again and then load the mission plan into the radio? Or did you just make the changes, save, click done, and then go straight to loading the mission plan? Like I said, VA is buggy.
