• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have an XPR 3500e that I want to trigger a call alert on a page. I have the signaling system setup, contact setup and channel setup. It is muted until triggered but will not trigger for my tones. Using another department in my area triggers the tones so I am guessing I am close on setup just maybe a timing issue. Here are screen shots of my setup.

Channel Setup

I have tested and they show a 584.8 and 651.9. If I switch to a neighbor department of 810.2 and 584.8 it triggers.
Any suggestions on what I should try and change? Does the pretime need to be adjusted up with it being a 1 second / 3 second tone and virtually no gap?

Seems silly but have you checked to make sure that is the right tone pair?

I haven't used twotonedetect in years, but I did notice on the older version I used the shown detected tones were slightly off from what I knew they were. Perhaps they are off just enough to not trigger? You can record them and analyze them with audacity and see if there is any difference. Also just for kicks turn the RX pl tone off and let it be csq and see if that changes anything.

Yes. I use Two Tone Detect to capture the audio for other systems and that is the tone pair that it triggers on.
I don't suppose this is your department that you are affiliated to is it? Because if that's the case, chances are whoever is in charge of your radios/pagers will know what the exact pair is.

Thanks for posting your screen shots. I am trying to do the same thing to an XPR7550, but in comparing your screen shots to my program I find I am missing some of the boxes shown near the bottom of the WFD Paging and the channel set up screen. Everything else looks the same. I'm wondering if maybe this radio doesn't have the paging capabilities since I'm not seeing the same info as you have shown. Thanks for your time.

Make sure your CPS is in Expert View and not Basic (which is default).

I did get it to trigger today. The channel is muted until it triggers and goes into call alert. Then after the page is done it stays in call alert until you press monitor button. What could I change to get it to unmute on trigger and stay unmuted, then when monitor is pressed it would reset itself. Tying to get it so you would not miss any radio traffic with a delay of changing channel over to primary.

Change from call alert to selective call. Change auto reset timer to manual.
