• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued.     To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

XPR6550 Bluetooth Earpiece Options

Looking to upgrade a fleet of XPR6550s for bluetooth capability.

I know I'll need to buy the PMLN5712B adapter to facilitate the Bluetooth connectivity, but I can't seem to find any (current) Motorola offerings in a true earpiece/headset style that we're looking for.

I did stumble on the EP900W earpiece, which will work perfectly for the XPR7550e's we have as well, but I'm not finding any information that says it'll work with the PMLN5712 adapter for the XPR6550s.

I do see the NNTN8125 Kits, but they still have a wire from the earpiece to the PTT "pod", which we're looking to eliminate.

Any suggestions on an earpiece that's truly wireless like the EP900W?

Dump the 6550s. Bluetooth versions and releases can make many current earpiece/headsets incompatible with older hardware. I have had this issue with older cell phones and new cars as well as many various headsets and what I am attempting to pair to. Currently have a Vegas customer fighting with units that work fine with the 7580 but not the 7580e.

These 6550 units have been EOL since 2015.
