Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I am looking for the pin out of the DB25 connector on the front of the radio in a remote mount radio. I have searched all over and can not find any info. I have the pin out for the 26 pin accessory connector on the back.

Which type of TIB do you have? One with TWO DB-25f on the front with a GCAI in the center or one with ONE DB25 with one GCAI and two BLUE control cable connections?

Of course, the next question begs, what are you trying to connect to it?

I have the one with the Single DB25 with one GCAI and two BLUE control cable connections.

I am trying to connect this unit to a Zetron 4010 console. The unit right now is connected to a Motobridge through the Accessory connector on the rear of the unit. The radio is not used that much, but when it is patched it is used heavily, That is why I would like to see if I can double use the radio.

Because of audio routing on the external PTT and how it interfaces, you would be better off configuring your 4010 local control card for high impedance and paralleling the connections on the rear connection to the MotoBridge. Remember that the Astro25 radio does NOT like having its audio grounded on the receive side, so you may need to use an isolation transformer or even an iso and a reduction pot to match levels close enough to be within the gain range for the 4010.

Do NOT overload the inputs to the 4010 card, and the best way to adjust the input AGC knee point is to use an analog channel in the XTL and set the 4010 from minimum until just where the gain levels off at the test point when you are increasing the pot, then back it off about 1/2 a turn. Then the AGC compression knee will work correctly for your console input.
