• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

@Ant9270 I was wondering the same? If I had to assume given radio type and then all the TG's listed I am guessing he wants to do a NAS-OBT on a XTL.

It has nothing to do with trunking or NAS. He wants someone to build him a codeplug using those talk groups. Unfortunately Motorola radios can’t just take a generic codeplug. You need to read the radio so the software knows the serial number and flashport code.

The OP needs to learn to do it on his own, unless someone is willing to have his codeplug currently in his radio emailed to him and goes the work for him.

You need to do this yourself. Your radio needs to be read, and you need to create the personalities yourself. We can’t just take a generic codeplug and do the work for you. You don’t even give the frequency you will be using.

@kayn1n32008 that makes more sense, given the brief info he provided I assumed that he was wanting something in correlation to NAS. Yeah he needs to learn the in and outs of his radio or take it to a shop and have it programmed properly.

No, I just need a codeplug

@OE8AGK, you CAN NOT just build a generic code plug for a Motorola radio. You MUST read the radio FIRST.

The help files and tutorial videos will explain how to create personalities and modes.

@OE8AGK like @kayn1n32008 stated you can't build a blank code plug build for the radio, problem is that your radio has to be read with CPS, from there you could edit and change your code plug and write it back to the radio after changing those values to your needs. Another problem is even if some had the same radio with options as you and built you a code plug to your needs, you COULD NOT write that code plug to your radio cause you will brick it leaving you with a radio that will not work at all. You must learn to program your radio yourself as suggested or take it to someone who can properly program it for you to your needs which will cost you some money. Hope this helps you better!

I think he needs a P25 ham codeplg as an example to go by for conventional talk group programming. I get the frustration.

I have a uhf he can look at to work off of.

He can’t use a codeplug from another radio of the same model and flashcode. When he tries to write the codeplug to his radio, because of the serial number mismatch, the software will fail to write. It won’t brick the radio, it will simply fail to write.
