• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have 2 XTL 5000's and 1 XTS 5000. One XTL is being used as a Base station. I am trying to set up astro call. I can get the base to call the mobile and the XTS and I can get the mobile and the XTS to call each other and I can call both mobile and XTS from the base but I cannot call the base from either one of them. When I try to call the base, I get "Please Wait" and then says "No Acknowledge". I have double and tripple checked all my settings and I am looking for help and suggestions.

OK. so your confusing the topic. You said you can page via base to mobile 1 and portable 1 but not back to base. All this is on an ASTRO channel correct ? Same channel ?

I'm sorry, I did not to a good job explaining this.
Channel 1 is a repeater pair with a PL Tone
Channel 2 151.490 is mobile to mobile with a DPL
Channel 3 151.490 is mobile to mobile and it is set to ASTRO
Channel 4 is another Repeater Pair
Both repeaters have different Frequencies with Different PL's
I have channels 1,2, and 4 set to MDC Page and this seems to be working.
Channel 3 is set to ASTRO Call with Quick Call II selected as signalling type.
Hope this expalins it. Your last post make me think the problem is going to be 3 channels using different codes.

Astro and Quick Call do not go together. Quick Call is for MDC. Under your astro personality you should have a tab for Astro Call. IS call alert decode checked ? As well as Selective Call Decode ? TX/RX both set for astro ? Astro System 1 has different ID for each radio ?

Ok i checked all of those settings and they are set as you suggested. I do have different ID's for each radio. You said ASTRO System needs a different ID for each radio. Are you saying that the ID'S for each radio in the ASTRO system, need to be a different number than the ID's that are used in the Quick Call II. In other words if I use say 1234 as a ID in Astro Call for mobile, can I used that same (1234) in the Quick call in that same radio or does the radio have to have different ID's for each System?
