• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

    This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Is the 800 MHz radio capable of transmitting on the input frequency and receiving on the output frequency like the UHF model? I am aware that the frequency split for UHF is 3 or 5 MHz where the 800 band is 45 MHz I don't have a code plug to see if the CPS software will accept or reject the attempt to reverse the in/out.

You can only put in 851-868.9875 then select if you use Talk-Around
But No you can not put in 806.9875

ECPS is correct. CPS will not allow you to "reverse" the frequencies.
It will just create the dreaded "red" box error and force you to correct the frequency before allowing the codeplug to be written to the radio.
Only option is to use Talk-around.

Could we ask WHY you'd want to do this? Talk around is one thing, completely swapping the TX and RX is different.

Pretty sure an 800 MHz radio will have a 851-870 RX bandpass filter. Not much point in specifying an RX frequency in the 806-824 band when the radio is deaf down there.

Hypothetical question. No real reason. Although I have seen it done on uhf radios set to low power and talkaround for special events where encryption is not available. The tech reasoned that not too many people scan the input to the repeater.
