Does anyone know if you can lockout a talkgroup on this radio from the keypad on the front of the radio? What I mean is when the radio is scanning and stops on a certain talkgroup that you don't wanna listen to can it be locked out?

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Nuisance delete. When the radio stops on the talkgroup you don't want to listen to, press the button programmed as that. It will then stop listening to that talkgroup, resume scanning, and skip over that talkgroup until the next time you toggle your scan off and on.

^ nuisance delete, lots of Moto radios have em, I think every one that has a programmable button has it..

Thanks for the info. Beside a temp lockout is there a permanent way to lock out a talkgroup from the keypad or does that also vary from radio to radio

No. You would permanently remove it from the scan list from the CPS.
If your radio has the ability to edit the scan list, yes. You can edit the list and delete the talkgroup you want to not scan. If it isn't enabled, you'd need to assign a menu feature or switch.
