If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Good morning,
I have programmed an xts3000 vhf and I can not hear on reception. I double and triple checked frequencies and pl/DPL tones. Any help is greatly appreciated. Below is information from radio.
When in service mode the following comes up
R.07.25.00
DSPN 08.03.03

Flashcode 580001-001A00-7
I used cps R.05.03.00
I know I’m missing something can’t figure out what I missed.
Thank you
George

So if you program a NOAA WX frequency in your area that is strong, you hear nothing? Could be way out of alignment, bad RF board, antenna connector itself...25 year old radio....start with the basics. If you program a simplex freq in carrier squelch and key up another known radio on that frequency or the NOAA WX signal, what do you get?

Remove all the tones. Don't need them to receive. They can keep you from receiving a transmission with out a tone or the wrong tone. To hear everything do not use tones!

And as mentioned program in the weather (NOAA) frequencies and verify you can hear them. If you can't receive NOAA, them you probably have a radio problem or programing problem.
