Yaesu ATAS-120 disassembly

Hi Gang,

Has anyone out there ever disassembled a Yeasu ATAS-120 I have a new one but it appears stuck,
in that it won't go up.

I took it apart based on a doc I found on the web but it only goes so far. I have it now down to where
I need to get the top aluminum piece off that holds the ball bearings to the coil.

And I want to get a look inside the gear box on the bottom where the motor attaches ……

I’ve found lots of pictures on the web and YouTube videos that show it all apart but they don’t say how they did it?!?!

Has anyone here ever done this and any suggestions are appreciated. The attached picture shows where I have it down to now .......

One of the hams in Calgary has done this, in fact I think a couple. I have not. I am not certain if Jerry posted this on his web site but you might want to look at it. You can usually catch Jerry on the FARS system early in the mornings.
