I know this is a scanner site, but does anyone in Md. happen to have a programming cable for an FT-2900 2M mobile.
I know they can be bought on line, extensive delivery time and not verified they work. I just bought one from Chinazon, and it doesn't communicate with the radio.
Cable only, I have software.

Thanks

RT Systems cable <--- here.
Which is cheaper, sending your radio to Yaesu (if they even still fix it) or buying the right cable and software?
Buying a cheap cable and free software opens up the chances of you corrupting the radio's processor.
It's your radio, but i wouldn't do that with mine.

The cheap cables on Amazon more times than I care to think about have fake chips inside and driver issues. You will be better off buying 1 from BlueMax49 since you already have software. RT Systems is the way I go for all my amateur rigs software and cables.

Yes, the cheap cables often use counterfeit FTDI chips with poor results. And finding a driver for it can be difficult.
Been there done that.
Get the real thing.

I’ve been using RT systems software and cables since the early 90‘s on multiple rigs. Never had a hardware or software issue that I remember. I echo the other folks, if you’re not sure about the supplier it’s better to go with a known supplier.

Thanks for the responses. I know about where to order the bad ones and the good ones. I was asking if anyone has one around here they would be willing to part with.
Thanks.

BlueMax49 hands down best source for reliable cables. I've only had one faulty cable from him (Kenwood TK5X10 series) he was quick to send me a replacement. VERY honest guy.
