After moving, I'm trying to reprogram my Yaesu FT-60. When I try to get data from radio, I either get an instant ERROR, or it appears to download, but then I get NOT AUTHORIZED.

I'm on a Mac runnng OS 11.17.10 (Big Sur), Browser is Firefox 141.0.2, FT-60 Programmer verskion 6.1.34
Using the RT Syayems cable

They do have a macOS version of the FT-60 Programmer. That’s the one I use with their USB cable. Works very well. Never had an issue. Frequently updated.

@K6DDL, looks like your hardware requirements fall within the specs and I assume the cable you’re using is the correct RT Systems cable. Was the software loaded on a different machine after the move?

What is "FT-60 Programmer verskion 6.1.34?" I've had an FT-60 since 2012 and I've never heard of this.

@K6DDL, RT Systems has some strong checking to prevent software piracy. Moving their software to a different computer without telling RT Systems about the move and/or having the software installed on two machines simultaneously will, I believe, trigger their security measures. I also think that an IP address change may have a similar response. Contact RT Systems about the error and see what they advise.

RTSystems has been producing MacOS compatible software for some time. They are the only company I know of that writes MacOS compatible software for ANY radio, LMR or ham.

The RT Systems Programming software:
Got it. I've just never heard it referred to that way.

I have most of my RT Software installed on two different machines. One is an old Win XP net book I keep for portability and the other is a Win 10 laptop I use as my primary computer. The Win 10 machine is about to be replaced with another that has been sitting for a while.

I'm guessing you installed it from CD-Roms?

They have strong anti-piracy measures now with their download installs.

I have old versions that you installed off CD, and have bought recent CPS that was a download. Old CD installed versions, as long as you had the correct key, you could install it as many times as you wanted, their new stuff not so much.

And I've also seen reports on the CHIRP mailing list that are the result of using a third party cable. The software is set up, I believe, for a specific response from the serial port. No or the wrong response can cause the Not Authorized message

It's about 50-50. We'll see what happens when I need to replace this computer. It's getting close...
