Yaesu: Yaesu FT-65 Priority Channel Scanning

I am using the Yaesu FT-65 in Priority Channel Scanning mode so that it monitors my existing channel and every 5 seconds checks for transmissions on the 'priority' channel. Does any one know how this 5 second period can be shortened / adjusted please ?

Reading both the Operating Manual and the Advanced Manual, the 5 second period appears to be a fixed value that is not user programmable.

Thank you, I just wondered if someone had found a work around. Shame as a shorter period would have been better.

Good question, Casey. I have a vx and looked for the same answer to no avail.
