Yaesu: Yaesu FT-7900R Won't Power On

When I try to power it on, the speaker makes a noise, the keypad on the microphone lights up but the radio does not turn on. I checked all the connections, tried to do a "reset" and even brought it in side to try it on my shack power suppply.

No dice.

Any ideas before I send it in? I've only had it for 5 months. Thanks.

If a hard reset doesn't fix the problem, repair is the only likely solution.

How is the radio mounted? Is the faceplate separated from the rest of the radio, or is it attached to the body of the radio? Did you check the connection between the faceplate and the radio?

I ended up sending the unit in to Yaesu for repair. They just sent me another unit. This one has been trouble free for a year now.
