Yaesu FT-8100 Annoying scan beep!

Ok, I've looked over the manual and cannot seem to find how to turn off the beep this unit emits when it is scanning and stops on a channel. I had someone tell me how once before, and can't for the life of me remember the steps involved. Please, someone enlighten me. This thing is going to drive me looney!
