I recently received a FT2500M from a friend, after a good cleaning, including re-seating the ribbon cables and board connections and replacing the PTT switch in the mic, I got it working purdy good! It wouldn't even power on when I got it.
Odd thing is, when scanning it will stop on a channel in use and the audio will be very distorted, a buzzing sound so that you can't understand what the people are saying. If I flip the up/dwn buttons or use the select knob to cancel the scan the voice is clear and normal. The only other "problem" is that the display backlight flickers slightly, other hams tell me it sounds good, better then my Kenwood TM261A.
Any ideas?
