Yaesu FTA-450L and YCE01?

We have now here 2 FTA-450L. All works fine. But when trying to program them with YCE01 software, no luck. The driver seems to be installed, it is also configured when device connected, but when it comes to read from radio or write to radio, timeout comes after abt 10-15 sec.
The radio has version firmware 3.01, the YCE01 is 2008, the lasted what Yaesu website offers.

Anybody managed this to operate?
Any idea what to do?

Are you using the Yaesu cable, or an off-brand cable?

Tested both. The one included in the box as first, then to make sure it is not the problem, tested other cable from my workshop.
Neither works. Both time out.
