Well, stuff happens, momma took her car to the carwash and i have a card on how to pull just the top part of the mobile antenna off the mount for these monkeys watching the washers.... So this guy took the whole 3/8 stud mount apart and put it back together (i have a cb i know how to do this) and when
she tried calling me, of course, the final went Pffftt. Anyone know of a reasonable way or place to have this repaired? This rig has about 20 hours total on it and its just to nice to junk at a swap meet for $5

Thanks Guys

Just to be sure, have you actually checked the RF output with a watt meter and a 50Ω load?

Most modern radios will sense high SWR and fold back the power to prevent damage.
I did, she cant hit decent distance repeaters anymore... so ill call Yaesu... Semper Paratus Shipmate

You might want to look at an NMO mount as a replacement for the 3/8 stud mount. It's a simple matter to unscrew the antenna from the mount and thread a plastic cap on the mount. It takes less than a minute to do the changeover.
