More Fusion online

In Chattanooga, Tn 444.100 is now a Fusion site. It's in close proximity to the 146.790 machine, which has been Fusion for a while. Word has it another Fusion site going up in Dalton, Ga very soon, giving areas south of Chattanooga coverage. Stay tuned.

In the Calgary, Alberta area, the following repeaters are reported to have Fusion ability:
145.1100 VE6EIT Bragg Creek [analog as well]
146.6850 VE6CID
146.940 VE6RPT Cochrane analog and P25? [have heard digital on here but also may have been P25]
147.000 VE6HRA Alderysyde [have heard digital on this frequency] and analog
147.135 VE6GER Crossfield analog but is currently listed as Off-Air
444.000 VE6RYC [but not 146.85 which is also VE6RYC] analog as well
444.675 VE6FIL [have heard digital signal on this frequency] digital only

Other repeaters listed as having Fusion in Alberta
Medicine Hat frequency posted above
442.175 VA6ARD Red Deer/Pine Lake area.

EIT is not yet online but should be dual modulation when it is. I'm meeting with the repeater owner today.

RPT's VHF side is Fusion. The only P25 repeater I'm aware of in southern Alberta is RPT's UHF side (444.9 $293).

System Fusion

The Batesville Area Radio Club in Batesville, Arkansas is proud to announce that the 147.270 machine, located on Brock Mountain is now System Fusion running in AMS mode. With a PL of 94.8 and a CTCSS of the same, analog users will still be able to use this machine. Please include the CTCSS in your programming so your receiver will "skip" the digital audio if scanning. Also, the use of the monitor function and the visual check of your "busy" light will let the user know if the channel is clear BEFORE transmitting.

Applications have also been made to replace the 444.750 machine. Future plans of WIRES-X are being discussed.

Also, another local frequency, 147.225 has recently took a lightning strike. Application has been submitted for a System Fusion replacement for this machine also. This is linked with IRLP node 3956, and will be back online soon.

In my travels I've been on several Fusion repeaters. Only once was the person on the other side using the digital side.

Seems a lot of Fusion machines going up, are going up because clubs can get them at $500 and reasonably replace their old equipment. They are using them as analog replacements, vs wanting to add Fusion. (So I've been told in these conversations)

Anyone else seeing that?

My club (Mississauga ARC) recently put the first of their two new Fusion repeaters on the air: 444.575 (+) 103.5 in mixed mode operation. We took advantage of the Yaesu deal (brilliant marketing!) and bought two to ultimately replace our two aging GE Mastr II's.

I don't have a Fusion radio to test digital but for analog comms the audio sounds fine. And we've set ours to transmit PL on analog only so that those users without Fusion gear won't be bothered by the digital noise.

Just an update on Fusion repeaters in the Calgary area. The Fusion repeater was removed from 444.000 and replaced with DMR [and I am still trying to like digital but find that DMR, to me, is not as good as what I could hear on the Fusion repeaters-far too nasally or monotone]. The 146.94 had a problem with the Fusion repeater and was removed. It is P25 but do not monitor it and I think the only ones using it are the people that installed it. 444.675 is still Fusion and is used by a few people.

The AA9RT 444.300+ Fusion repeater is now on the air in AMS/AMS mode. We'll be making some more system upgrades in the near future, and plan on a Wires-X interface, and future linking to another Fusion repeater northeast of here.

Shiloh, IL FUSION ON-LINE SOON (Repeater is in testing)
(AA9RT) 444.300+ 5.000 Mhz PL 123.7 Hz Encode/Decode AMS-In/AMS-Out
