Yaesu VX-6R Help

[SCPD]

About 2 weeks ago, the above radio started intermittently transmitting. When I push the PTT button the red light will come on, but it isn't always transmitting. I have to push the PTT a few times and it will TX 50% of the time. When I turn the radio on the display flashes.

These are the troubleshooting steps I took:

removed battery for 5 minutes
stopped charging radio while turned on
full reset from keyboard


In case you were wondering, I did call Yaesu and they will only say for me to send it to them.

When using a spkr mic, do you still have the same problem? If so, it may be the PTT contact wearing out.

PLL unlocked?

Sounds like you might be describing a PLL unlock condition.

Factory service would be the best choice if this is the case
