I ordered a new Yaesu VX-6R from Universal Radio. Ordered a couple of extras, the antenna adapter, mike adapter (for hooking in a computer for programming) the CD-Rom offered by the factory for programming, extra car charger....

I've had the radio a couple of weeks now. Works great.

However, the software CD was BACKORDERED. It was "supposed" to be available 5/15/06. I checked with Universal today. It's STILL backordered.....

Anyone else had this problem? Getting software?

Thanks, Steve/KB8FAR

The software comes from R.T. Systems, and a quick check of their web site produced this notice:

"An increased number of orders and unexpected illnesses among our shipping personnel are causing delays in shipping. Be aware that your order will take from one to three days to be processed for shipping. We hope to be back to normal schedules in the next few weeks."

So the delay does not appear to be the fault of Universal Radio.

I guess no one else at R.T. Systems knows how to put a disk in the mail!
They've never been known for running their business very well.

Hello,

If you received the programming cable, You might want to try out VX-6 Commander by Jim Mitchell.

http://www.kc8unj.com/vx6.html

You might decide that this software is a good alternative to the Yaesu (RT Systems) software.

I use a RT Systems cable and VX-7 Commander to program my VX-7.
