Ive had this tiny radio tranceiver from new and is small and robust,it covers alot,marine band hf am fm.
ive noticed that on its rubber antenna it puls in ok,however when it goes on ,say a watson 2 mtr antenna it seems to pull in lots of crap.ive got a yaesu ft60 similar and thats great

Hard to say what's going on without more information, but could the VX2E be suffering from front end overload from nearby transmitters? Your FT60 undoubtedly has a more robust receiver within. HTH.

thanks for reply,ive had the radio for a long time and i had suspicions that it was the problem with the front end,ill keep it for a spare,thanks for reply,g7bnv
