Wow, what a day.

As some of you may know, Eastern district of AA County just had a business robbery about 20 minutes ago. How does this involve me? Read on.....

Prior to this robbery, I was pulled over by, i beleive it was Adam 3 on Fort Smallwood and Cottage Grove drive, or it mighta been Johnson road. Anyway, i look in my sidemirror and see a cop flying up in the turn lane, the same cop i had passed at a stoplight about 1 minute ago at fort smallwood and bar harbor road. Of course, he gets in behind me and the lights go on. "Great" i think to myself. What now. I pull onto Cottage grove. He gets out and starts talking to me, what are all these antennas for, blah blah. Then he gets to my tint. Now, my tint is 20%, which is obviously illegal in maryland (legal limit in maryland is 35% NET). So he goes hack to his cruiser to write me up a nice big fat juicy ticket. I dont argue none and show lots of respect, because i know its illegal. He gets out of his car and leans on his hood with his ticket notebook in hand, writing me a ticket. Then i heard the dispacher give him an incident number. "Well, i got a ticket allright" i thought to myself. Then comes the radio......he walks briskly back to my car, quickly hands me my license and registration and says "Here im giving you a warning today, ive got a robbery to go to". "THANK YOU SIR!!" i said. No ticket, no even a written warning! I quickly turn back on my scanner (I turned it off when i got pulled over just so save him the breath of telling me to) and hear that theres a robbery about 3 minutes down the road, where i came from.

TALK ABOUT LUCK! :D :D :D :D :D

I forgot to mention that i also passed the vehicle that did the robbery on fort smallwood before the robbery!

I spoke too soon, about 2 hours after i got pulled over, i hear on the radio, "adam 3 to radio, hold me en route to [My Address], im gonna see if i can't finish up my traffic stop i diverted from." Yay. He was diverted for something at the popeyes though, and since the popeyes is about 5 minutes from my house and i had to leave to meet someone anyway, i decided to just go and meet him there. :? He went and backed up a unit out with a four wheeler, and then he was on his way to my house. I held up my hand at him and he recognised me. He turned out to be a really nice guy, we talked for a while. I only got a repair order warning.

It had to be AA County police. They're the only show around here... we have exactly two towns in this county... Annapolis and Highland Beach. Annapolis city has their own PD and dispatch, AFD is dispatched through county Fire Alarm.

Everything else is unincorporated, border to border. AAPD and AASO are the only law enforcement... the reason why they're so busy.

EDIT: Duh, I forgot what I was gonna say to CP!

You got lucky! That's kinda funny he kept your info and was going to follow up... my only thoughts are, if you knew the tint was illegal why didn't you modify it when you moved the vehicle into the state and registered it? I'm sure having it reduced will cost less in the long run than any tickets...

Wanna talk about being near stuff?? LOL I used to live in Baltimore City near Patterson Park. Never really thought too much about it being dangerous as I lived on the east side of the park. Well....the day came about 11-12 years ago that I broke down and bought a scanner like I always wanted to. (Grew up around them but never had one as an adult) Started hearing things like shots fired, robbery, assault in progress etc. Most stuff being no more than half mile away. Kind of opens yer eyes. One of the first things I did when I bought a house was to listen to the scanner. I live right on the border of Precinct 8 and Precinct 9. In the 13 months I have lived here have only heard two calls anywhere near me. Both for loud music. Quite the pleasant change.

Yea, thats the second robbery ive been near. This recent robbery was actually a strongarm robbery to a business, in which he just reached over the counter and *tried* to grab money. It didnt really work. He was arrested later when they found his vehicle.

As for my tint, ive lived here all my life. I had the tint put on a few days before Christmas, i didnt come into the state with it like that. I know, i know. I knew the consequences and knew what i had was illegal, so i was ready to accept the consequences at any time. Thats why i didnt argue with the officer about it none. I just figured they wouldnt bother me about it. Oh well, live and learn.

I guess it will have to be re-tinted know so he can satisfy that repair order.

Llwellyn: Don't forget the Villages of Crofton and Gibson Island! They have about 4 officers each! :D

colliers_628: The plant you refer to is on Wagner Station Rd, in Orchard Beach. It runs off Ft. Smallwood Rd.

CapitalPunishment: Sorry to hear about your run-in, hope the tint man doesn't charge too much to bring you into compliance.

Hey Bro!!! that is all you can do is live and learn... Just Remember 1 thing and you done the correct thing::
You Treated the Police Officer with Respect, and I Believe you were very
curtious by waiving @ The Officer so he could finish up his traffic stop...
and you spoken with him for awhile and probably talked about different
things... I'm pretty sure when he was done with you,He was probably saying to himself "Good Kid and He probably wished there was more like
you" And He'll remember it the next time he sees you again on a Traffic
Stop or in the store or something...BSAFE :)

Hopefully, there wont be anymore traffic stops
Yep, Ive been saying that myself...especially
getting stopped by MSP about a year ago for driving a F350 with 44"Boggers,12" inches of lift and straight pipe exhaust with no converters..
It was cheaper for me to sell the dang thing than running it thru inspecton again and I just bought a 2004 F250 FX4 Power Stroke with Flowmaster dual outlet exhaust system and 35's...
