Can anyone confirm if the Yamhill County EMS pages are still going out on 46.42 MHz?

I used to hear them at home in the Beaverton area all the time, but just realized that I have not heard them in some months.

Yes, they are still going out on both.

Hearing pages for drills tonight, as I type.

Thanks for that. I will now have to figure out what happened to my low-band reception at home.

So when I heard that page, I was in downtown McMinnville and it was pretty weak. I'm guessing they've downgraded the lowband setup continuously over the years.

So I picked up 45.88 on VHF LOW.. FCC says it belongs to Yamhill. I got a brief recording of 156.7 PL. Can you confirm if this is them?

For the record, I have no idea what's being said here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kffnqthzaa2rpue/4588.mp3?raw=1

Hmmm that doesn't sound like YCOM. Their pages on lowband are all CSQ now so.. I do remember others being able to pick up CHP from here with good skip...

Yeah I saw that the PLs were different. I'm going to chalk it up as skip -- probably from back East somwhere.

Interesting! I've been scanning 45.88 ever since, haven't heard anything yet. But I'm guessing my setup isn't the best for lowband. I'll keep it programmed for awhile.

And I submitted to get the change for 46.42 reflected in the db.

Last I heard from some public safety folks in Yamhill, the last firefighters that had low band pagers finally retired, so they dropped the pageouts, but YCOM like other agencies will "hoard" old frequencies....

I think lowband paging has officially been depreciated as of the 18th of this month. They were doing a bunch of testing on the vhf side, and had tapouts going out on uhf county fire. When they switched back to vhf, lowband was no longer multicast. I haven't heard any pages go out on the low side since.

Indeed 46.42 paging is gone. I guess with Rev 2 on here the old lowband info is gone, but 45.88 use to be the input for the 46.42 repeater. 46.10 also was a repeater output. I don't have a NIFOG handy, but I believe 45.88 is also a Mutual Aid freq and the 156.8 PL would make sense. As Gezelle007 said, power was WAY DOWN from older days. The input and the output use to be fully copiable with a portable scanner in Mac and while mobile in to Gaston. This year even with a gain lowband base antenna and commercial radio, the signal was awful. Too bad, that was a nice piece of history.
