I monitor fire department channels, on my SDS 100. I have all of Yamhill county fire programmed, however I have not head mobile units, realizing the base stations have a higher power output than the mobiles. Are the mobiles on a cross channel operational?

I did some check in my SDS 100 and I have all Yamhill County fire channels in the scanner, including the various repeater sites around the county, so I suspect it’s just my location an antenna. I’m here in Salem NW side of town and using in all band antenna, so I suspect it’s just typical topographical issues and not any wrong frequencies

unless they are using simplex channels for tacs you should hear them on the repeater ops channels.

yea, they are. I think a better antenna would likely help.
