Yeasu FT-857D and DSD

I see in the Wiki that someone is using a Yeasu 857 with DSD (under Linux). If I want to try this under Windows, is anything else needed besides connecting the PC to the Data port on the rig and running DSD?

That is the only word I consistently misspell. Unless the radio is right in front of me, I always get it backwards.
